The Taj Mahal is one of the most famous monuments in the world and is recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It is located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India, on the banks of the Yamuna River.

The Taj Mahal was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died in 1631 while giving birth to their 14th child. Shah Jahan was heartbroken and wanted to build something eternal to honor her love and memory.

Construction started in 1632 and was completed around 1653.

It took about 22 years and over 20,000 workers to complete.

The white marble was brought from Makrana, Rajasthan, and precious stones were imported from all over the world.

The Taj Mahal is a perfect example of Mughal architecture, combining Persian, Islamic, and Indian styles.

It has a large white dome, four minarets, a beautiful garden, fountains, and detailed carvings with floral patterns and calligraphy.
